Hello I purchased an android 4.0.4 car deck and I like to put cm10 on it. But I am having a few issue that I hope someone can help me with. The deck came already rooted. So here are some of my issue. Please help if you can. Thank you.

2.) I need to get or create an image recovery file. I have CWM installed but unable to install recovery because the CWM says device is not supported. I have tried many key combination on the deck but unable to get it to reboot in recovery or boot loader. Rebooting in boot loader or recovery through adb or terminal emulator does not work. The device just reboots.

3.) Is there an CM10 out there that will work on my device?

I have a similar CarPC same stats. I am looking to accomplish similar things... though I would also like to remove the clumsy firmware(?) driven stereo interface.

I have the same device.

I'm having an issue while in debug mode, to have Windows 7 64bit recognize the ANDROID device. It remains grayed in device manager.

Also, could you please elaborate how you managed to install CWM?

We are a small community with this devices, let's try to help each other :)

I also have "Knight Rider 7 Inch - CVIR-C130-2GEN with
android 4.0.4, , baseband 2.1.4, kernel 3.0.8+ hz@hz-wjh #692, build apollo_tvbox-eng 4.0.4 IMM76D 20121227 test-keys

i can't find nothing on the internet about it... no firmwares, no roms, nothing...

only 1 thing bothers me, when i'm inside the android and playing music... audio comes out only from front speakers.... from rear speakers and subwoofer nothing...
inside the sound category (settings) i found that it's using something called 'codec' i think the problem is somewhere over there.. maybe a new version of this "codec" or whatever it is will fix it... but still nothing on the net about it.

Solution:
Need to change in settings the GPS sound or something like this to on or off, don't remember exactly but it's now working :)

I'm still working on it connected to 12V @ home, and did not install in the car yet.
I was not able to install Waze, are you able to install it?

Hello All,

It has been sometime since I did my first post. I have not had much time to work on my deck as much I hope to. In my attempts to try to get the device to go into fastboot I bricked, it so I thought. After hours of trying to fix the issue I contacted the seller and they send me a download link for software and a video link on how to use the software. Well the software was LiveSuite and it contained an AllWinner image file. LiveSute and the AllWinner image file corrected my issue. But the most important thing to me was I now have an AllWinner image file that I can unpack to get the recovery.img, boot.img and system.img out of. Now I need to make the time to load software to retrieve the image files from the AllWinner image. But in the mean time I thought how could I get the recovery.img, boot.img and system.img file from the device it self. Well I did manage to get them with the help of other on the net.

Let me first say that I take no responsibility if you screw up your own device. The information I list is what worked on my device and it may not work on your device.

This is how I pulled recovery.img, boot.img and system.img from my device (tvbox "An android car deck") and onto my computer. The site that helped me do this is HERE .

::# system
::#--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
adb shell su -c "dd if=/dev/block/nandd of=/mnt/sdcard/system-backup.img"
adb pull /mnt/sdcard/system-backup.img d:\_roottvbox\Backups\system-backup.img
adb shell rm /mnt/sdcard/system-backup.img

::# recovery
::#--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
adb shell su -c "dd if=/dev/block/nandg of=/mnt/sdcard/recovery-backup.img"
adb pull /mnt/sdcard/recovery-backup.img d:\_roottvbox\Backups\recovery-backup.img
adb shell rm /mnt/sdcard/recovery-backup.img

::# boot
::#--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
adb shell su -c "dd if=/dev/block/nandc of=/mnt/sdcard/boot-backup.img"
adb pull /mnt/sdcard/boot-backup.img d:\_roottvbox\Backups\boot-backup.img
adb shell rm /mnt/sdcard/boot-backup.img

The recovery script on the site also works for me but I still can not get my car deck into recovery mode to use CWM. None of the keys on the deck respond to the android device inside the deck. To confirm that none of the key respond to the android device in the deck I used the following command "adb shell getevent -c 30". The "-c 30" is the number of key events before exiting getevent. Otherwise it will run for ever. After you execute "adb shell getevent -c 30" it will output the results to the screen whenever you press a button or the screen. After 30 event getevent will stop outputting the results.

So because none of the keys on the deck work for me I need to find another way to boot it in recovery mode. Every attempt I do to try to put the device into recovery mode only makes the device reboot. I have tried command line and there is an app out on the google play.

I am also able to get into fastboot. Using the site link above I was able to use the following commands.
adb shell
echo -n boot-fastboot | busybox dd of=/dev/block/nandf count=1 conv=sync; sync; reboot

When I do fastboot devices I get
???????????? fastboot
I think this is ok but not sure. I can do "fastboot reboot" and "fastboot reboot-bootloader" but the device only reboot. I believe I need to better understand how to use fastboot. There are many more commands that can allow me to flash and create. More research is needed.

Well this is all I have for know. My hope is to load CM10 but I need to find out where to get cm10 zip as well as getting CWM recovery working for an AllWinner A10 processor for my device. I did notice on another forum HERE that "Christian Troy" may have the solutions I need. I hope to contact him in the future.

What does it mean "rom 4.0+loading in recovery", what is the procedure that is needed to go into recovery?

What is the ROM build and kernel (is it the same original TVBox)?

Are you able to install CWM recovery?

Thanks!

rom tvbox v.1.7 has built cmw. if you go to the (program's-settings-reset and reset) there is a point (in the Restart in recovery) but I can `t choose the buttons in the menu. You can enter the service mode in (WINCE-settings-on the control dial 1 3 5 7 9) it is possible to change the buttons to try zvuk.i cmw engine buttons (NAVI +) (eq-). I will upload photos to archive my tvbox. (program android system info) http://yadi.sk/d/-Bnl0p632IHod

Yeah, had no problem installing it... where exactly you are getting stuck at?

It said something about the SD card not having enough space.

I also tried swapping the internal with the Ext., but that did not help as well.

I believe the ROM is lousy, and once we can change the ROM and use recovery,
all problems will be solved.

On another note, I found that in the settings menu when you have GPS sound ON, it disables the subwoofer for music playing from Android, but when it is OFF, android music plays with subwoofer just fine.

I tried to run an FM app for Radio in Android, but it required earplugs, and would not run without it, so any idea on that would be great.

It would also be great is we can have bluetooth working in Android, so we don;t need the lame software that came with the headunit.

About waze, Make sure u have enough space on internal storage, use app2sd for easy moving. If that's not the issue then>>
I just had that error while trying to install xda on it, so I tried installing it with aptoide instead of google play store and it worked maybe this method will work for you..

About the gps, it is right what u wrote.. I found out about it couple of days after buying.
Youtube doesn't work for your testing? Why fm radio?

Sent from my tvbox using xda premium

Don't use app2sd ! :)
today when I went to work, the android started like I never installed anything.

---------------------

Edited:
Sorry for editing but I don't think the app2sd caused the problem, I think it happen because when I power off the engine of the car the android isn't turning off properly.
So I reinstalled everything, and now I'm using a 'Shutdown widget' before turning off the engine.

Help!

I have the this version(Android 4.0 Car Stereo DVD Player 3G WIFI GPS Navigation Double Din TouchScreen) it's on ebay but bought it from chinavasion and it's stuck in the bootloop for the android portion. Can someone please help me.. It's been stuck in the bootloop since I changed the wallpaper in android. I can't get it to go into the factory recovery mode.

Do I hold the vol + button and the power button until the car logo comes on or until the android picture that comes up just before the bootloader?

    you could just use this cwm to update, or use the built in one, which is almost on every china manufactured car audio system.
    Mine worked with the stock recovery after using adb bundle:
    Code:
    adb reboot recovery
    i also tried script from the link above through the terminal emulator:
    Code:
    sh reboot-recovery.sh
    or simply in "terminal emulator" apk use:
    Code:
    echo -en "boot-recovery\0" > /dev/block/nandf; sync; reboot

    use usb-otg in your "knight rider" or analog to plug an ordinary usb keyboard before reboot to cwm recovery, it'll work - arrows and enter keys - simple as it can be. The keyboard should be plugged in before reboot in order to android "catch" it on boot.
    One problem - display will likely be shifted on cwm 6 for a10 (link above) as i had - almost on 7% to the left - you just need to guess menu items or use another android device to check them. And if trying to switch between wince and android part to fix it brought me to even more buggy view - half white flickering display. It probably should be fixed by script.bin copy from builtin cwm, but i had not tried yet.

    Suppose, in case of faulty firmware u can burn in new firmware by standart livesuit and try the builtin recovery to restore your extsd (simple sdcard, not nandk partition) cwm-image backup.

    I had one unresolved bug: If enabling "google's location service" and "location and google search" in "location" menu - system hangs and reboots. Same when i enable it, reboot quickly (saving preferences before crash) and use any of gps applications (navigation, maps, and so on). Any ideas how to fix it?

    The post from serg090909 can be translated in google translate from russian. He managed to burn in system image twrp touch recovery and support for bluetooth devices.

Win32DiskImager.exe.
ANDROID_SD 8G http://yadi.sk/d/4Z6SjGjqC5Suq
Win32DiskImager.exe
    3.выберите образ android_sd_8g.img
(Write)

    I'm looking at buying the CVVE-C180-2GEN - Road Veles 2. Does anyone know if Android can control USB devices running through the Road Veles 2 rear USB port? I don't need BT support, as the device I want to include is an OBD2 USB cable that will use Torque to view on-board data from my PCM.

    Hi jamesuhl.

    I am running USB devices thru the rear USB-port. My radio now has a USB-HUB with a wifi dongle and a bluetooth dongle. I also connected a keyboard but then it went buggy. I think the radio doesn't have enough USB-power to control more then 3 items or so. I think I am going to make a external power supply to my USB-hub. I think that will solve the problem. The only thing is I am a bit of a Android noob but with the help of some very nice people I was able to mod my radio to the extent I wanted. So my guess is that the drivers for the USB to OSB2 plug you want to buy arent loaded into the firmware... Furthermore, I've checked torque free AND torque pro and both only connect to wifi and/or bluetooth.

    But with the help of Serge090909 and his image I now have a very nice radio with a better android version then ever before. My next challenge is going to be to hook up a PS3 bluetooth controller to play some racing games, or GTA for that matter :laugh::victory: I can see the police pull me over and ask me why I have a controller in my hand... gnagnagna

MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition
    http://yadi.sk/d/dSYPYtKZCq4At

    Serge090909,

    It has worked again! I have made the partition bigger and it now has the full 32GB. Thanks! I first wanted to download the english version of minitool because I actually dont speak russian. I am dutch and with the help of google translate I figured out what to do with your instructions. That didn't work so I've used your russian version and thanks to the pictures you send with the download I was able to fix the SD-card. :laugh:

    I will delete the apps that do not work when I can get back into my car. I am now babysitting my little boy because my girlfriend is off to work.

    Serge090909,

:laugh:
