As a general question are there, or may there be, any 7'' tablets worthy of going to after being a xoomer?

Don't get me wrong, the xoom is great, but I've been thinking of downsizing for a while now.

I have an HTC flyer and sold my playbook after about a month of use.

Are my expectations set a bit high to want something a bit smaller but, at the same time, a worthy purchase to actually replace a 10 inch xoom?

Recommendations and speculation appreciated.

I brought my daughter a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7". she loves it, as well as my wife, who has an Iconia. That thing is pretty damn loud as well. Videos play nicely as well. Its running ICS, so its pretty much like a xoom, but smaller. There is speculation that a 64gb card will work, but i havent been successful with that. I would recommend it.

Also, it is widely rumored that a Google nexus (google experience)7" tablet on Asus hardware will be immanently released at +/- $200 pricepoint. I think TeamEOS would be able to work with that, being a nexus and supposedly a tegra 3.

Even though you got rid of your playbook, I think it is still a pretty good tablet since the 2.0 firmware was released. There are a lot of android apps that can now be sideloaded onto the playbook with the DDPB installer. Check out goodereader.com. The viewing angles of the playbook are much better than the Iconia 7" tablet. I've checked out a few other 7" tablets and I think the Samsung Galaxy tab is probably the best Overall.

This made me giggle. The ICS on the tab is a heavily skinned ICS, nothing like the Xoom which is a pure AOSP device. The UIs are very very different. I don't think its a bad product by any means, but given its hardware is significantly different from the Xoom as well as its modified android nature its definitely not pretty much like a xoom.

With that said, I would only recommend it if you absolutely need a 7" tablet asap. If you can wait, wait to see what the nexus tablet brings.
