[Q] any reason to update HBOOT 0.79 S-OFF > 2.02 S-OFF?

i was wondering if there was any benefit or drawbacks to going from 0.79 S-OFF to 2.02 S-OFF?

also, once you have S-OFF, is it off for good? can i just flash 2.02 over it, or will that re-enable it and i have to go through the process of getting s-off again?
