Anybody taking advantage of the latest exploit http://www.xda-developers.com/9-yea...-dirty-cow-can-root-every-version-of-android/ and working on it?
I doubt it on Z4 since we can unlock the bootloader and get sources from SONY.Anybody taking advantage of the latest exploit http://www.xda-developers.com/9-yea...-dirty-cow-can-root-every-version-of-android/ and working on it?
The reason I asked is I am unable to unlock the bootloader the official way since O2 UK locked it (bootloader unlock allowed: no). Personally, I'd love to unlock it first thing and get the device rooted no problem if this was only possible, though. This is why I seek other workarounds since this is my only chance to get my Z4 Tablet rooted.I doubt it on Z4 since we can unlock the bootloader and get sources from SONY.
For the challenge? Then you hit the next wall with DM-Verity. Without modifying your partitions you do not get a stable and useful root.
Yeah, I did. I'm currently on a generic debranded SONY rom. Still no change, unlocking not allowed, though haven't tried repairing it via PC Companion yet might be another option left.Did you try to flash a SONY ROM via XperiFirm?
Unfortunately there is no known way to remove the carrier lock.Yeah, I did. I'm currently on a generic debranded SONY rom. Still no change
