[Q] Anyone able to unlock AT&T XT1045 (moto G 4G LTE)?

so basically we're screwed because ATT/AIO (cricket) is selfish. this sucks. i like this phone. If only we were able to unlock its full potential, but nooo, large conglomerate corporations are being large conglomerate corporations

hopefully they find a work-around like the HTC desire 510 (my old phone) developers did. The bootloader was unlockable at 4.4.2 with sunshine (i am not paying $25 to unlock regardless), but the 4.4.4 update stopped it. unfortunately, my phone came shipped with 4.4.4.

Do you know if this phone was ever upgraded to 5.1? Motorola released an update but it isn't clear if AT&T/Cricket did for this particular device.

I have had no OTA updates, and also can't find one anywhere. For AT&T yes, but not the Cricket version, which I own.
