[Q] AOKP Jelly Bean CRT animation?

Hello,

Please forgive me in advance if I put this in the wrong place, I am new.

I recently upgraded to AOKP JB from AOKP ICS and noticed there is no CRT animation option in the settings. But sometimes when I turn off the screen the CRT animation comes back and plays perfectly with no problems. I have not noticed a pattern, it just happens at random.

1. Why did they remove the animation, and yet it still plays sometimes?

2. (If you know) When will they bring it back, assuming they will?

Yes they did. This is in "General IU".

He's saying they never removed the animation. The switch should be in display. If not then yes the switch is gone but the animation is fine for me. Are you using stock kernel?

I have looked everywhere in the settings and cannot find anything. It is not in display either. Yes I am on stock kernel (for AOKP of course).

Works reliably for me but I am on Siyah. Just don't go posting problems on the aokp thread with non stock kernel.

Wrong version of siyah. Use Mali Siyah.

Then download the right freakin kernel like he just said. Siyah works fine I've been using it for a while.

Siyah works just fine as said before. Make sure its the Mali version or it will boot loop. I use stock and the CRT animation always works for me and it did in siyah too.

I DID. AND IT DIDN'T WORK.

In my downloads list it shows the zip I downloaded a few days ago and it's the one he said to use.

What do you mean you don't see anything? Have you tried doing a full wipe/fresh install? The option has been there since the ICS version of AOKP. To disable the CRT animation, select Animation off. To enable it, select any of the other settings (Animation scale .5x and above).

I don't see anything regarding the CRT animation. There is a window animation scale and stuff like that. That is not for the CRT animation though. I don't think a wipe or fresh install would change anything except maybe flashing the kernel but I can't find a working kernel anyway.

Ok I have noticed some kind of pattern. The animation plays when I'm sending an SMS or MMS. (????) It's probably just random or something though.

Well you are doing something wrong obviously. Are you on the latest aokp?
