Hi All!

I'm thinking about turning my old aria into a chest mountable video camera. It has a broken digitiser which works well enough to make calls but not well enough to sms. Building a mount should (I hope) be easy with some of the materials I have laying around. But I am having trouble deciding on the ROM and camera app side of things. My aria is s-off and rooted with a 16 gb SD card.

There are a few things that I need for this.
- Low power camera
- Low power ROM
- High Quality camera app

I had found that winsuk's CM10 RC6 ROM had great battery life when I was using my aria daily (Which the camera did not work properly on but now does, I am lead to believe). But I have only compared that to the stock ROM and CM7. As for the camera performance and battery life, I have never taken notice of how battery life performs when taking video. I am also unsure whether different camera apps are more power efficient or not.

There was another thread which discussed adding higher resolution support, but with no real asnwers. I am also wondering about the framerates, if they would change when changing the quality. Does anyone know of any advances in this area?

Apart from those issues I am planning on wiping as much of the device as possible and disabling most core apps to free up the most memory (RAM and SD); Brightness right down (Duh), all cellular/gps/wifi off, ect. to save power.

A few other features I'm looking for are:
- Trackball start/stop of filming
- Audio verification of start/stop of filming
- Suggestions from you

I've put a bit of time searching for answers and ideas, but I could use some help with the nitty gritty stuff. Sorry this is such a long multi-question post.

Thanks in advance!

tl;dr video recording app and ROM suggestions
