Well, I have tried to find the answers for a few weeks now with no luck so I will just pose it.
Has anyone been able to send a Gif. using the default KitKat rom and Hangouts application? I have attempted multiple images with no luck. I am trying to send to an iPhone.
Things I understand:
When i try and send a gif the Nexus 5 compresses the image considerably so much so that it sends just a single static image whereas the iPhone will compress it as well without sacrificing the motion. I appreciate your time and any thing you wish to contribute.

- I know you can send a gif using hang out to hangout (gtalk to gtalk)
- I am ABLE to recieve gifs sent to me from an iphone and they move and work in the hangouts app
