Any way to replace the ATT boot animation on stock rooted without going to a ROM like MIUI or CM7?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I'm on Codeworx's kernel. Can I do the same?I used Entropy's Daily Driver Kernel

Once the kernel is in place, you can drop a replacement boot animation (bootanimation.zip) in /system/media. Works like a charm.
I don't think so. I think it's straight stock, with it's only addition being cwm recovery. But pop a bootanimation.zip into system/media and see what happens. The worst result would be --- nothing.I'm on Codeworx's kernel. Can I do the same?
Where can I find a sample animation ?I don't think so. I think it's straight stock, with it's only addition being cwm recovery. But pop a bootanimation.zip into system/media and see what happens. The worst result would be --- nothing.

I flashed entropy's daily. It's just a kernel. All of your themes and data and apps will not be affected.
yeah that's where i put it. now when it boots there's no ATT boot logo but it's just black screen till the apps load.Where did you put a bootanimation.zip? It should be in /system/media
I got it from the serendipidy 8 thread. shouldn't that work?Sounds like you're using a bootanimation not compatible with our resolution. Look in the Themes&Apps section for a boot animation to make sure it works. I can't upload one right now.
- Deleted bootanimation.zip (now there is no file named bootanimation.zip as before)Well let's debug, have you tried reflashing the latest experimental build of the kernel, and REMOVING the bootanimation.zip? Is the AT&T logo still showing up if there's no custom bootanim?
Which check boxes on the 9 box quadrant should I use in ROM manager when setting permissions? All 9 are checked. Just getting no boot animation again on boot. Now throw in a bootanimation.zip in /system/media/ and make sure you change the permissions to rw-r--r--, or chmod 644 if you're using adb. That's important.
Set those permissions. Still no animation just black. 2000% improvement over ATT, but still wanting to figure out the animation issue, heheX x -
