[Q] atrix and 3g help

Ok, first off i have my phone through my company. they recently made a new deal with att as far as service goes. anyway i have never had a data plan on my phone,
yesterday a little E popped up on the top and now i have the edge network available. i went to att and they said i have no data plan. my question is, i am somehow getting edge, shouldn't i be able to get 3g? I'm in a major city. (Dallas)\
but it only gets edge. I'm running darkside rom and unlocked bootloader. thanks for any help.

Have you tried searching for network providers under settings and picking a different network under ATT?

all setting are correct to get 3g, tried my sim in another phone and still no 3g. I'm going to accept that it is edge only since i have been at this company for awhile and have never had data, so this is good enough. haven't paid a phone bill in 7 yrs.

That is weird because if you don't have a data plan, then you shouldn't even have Edge. (AKA no data)

I see that you have a custom rom, have you ever had 3G when you were on stock?

The only thing I could suggest for now is to recheck your APN settings and make sure that they match your provider...
