[Q] Atrix update to 4.5.141

Heres my question. I havent replaces the software on the phone. All i did was use Superoneclick to unlock the phone then used SQlite to change a value from 0 to none to get the wifi hotspot to work. If i update my phone to the new update 4.5.141 Will my phone brick?

It might soft brick, the update might fail, or it might just work. Who knows?
I've read that others had to unroot to attain the update.

I used the motorola software update with my computer, and it worked fine.

Previously i was stock 2.3.4, faux kernel, rooted, unlocked bl and that updated fine, albiet i did get an failed to boot 2, the update took anyway.

OTA update won't work for you if you are rooted, (which you are), and/or have deleted/frozen any Moto/Blur apps.

The software updater thru windows worked like a charm! and was able to reroot the phone to get the mobile hotspot working again! Thanks for everything!!

months ago webtop modify files so you can use the hdmi cable. Maybe this is my mistake and possibly several that are in the same situation. The question is:

How reintalo original files to get the update?

In the original webtop thread, if you followed the instructions exactly, then you should still have the original four files in your /system/app folder, plus the two modified files that opened up the hdmi cable option. They just have .bak extensions at the end.


Then, to get back to original, you should do this:
- delete the MODIFIED DockService.apk
- rename DockService.apk.bak to DockService.apk
- rename DockService.odex.bak to DockService.odex

- delete the MODIFIED PortalApp.apk
- rename PortalApp.apk.bak to PortalApp.apk
- rename PortalApp.odex.bak to PortalApp.odex
