[Q] Backing up internal and external sdcards under KitKat 4.4.2

I am fairly OCD about backing up the contents of my internal and external sdcards. I've had too many cards fail with valuable or irreplacable data to trust one card with everything. I've used utilities like Synctoy and FreeFileSync to do this, but with KitKat 4.4.2 the sdcards are only seen as MTP devices on the PC.

Is there a way to backup storage that is seen as MTP the way drive access permits? This would be on an un-rooted, locked bootloader phone.
