I'm trying to anticipate how a Prime - with 10 - 12 hour battery life would work itself out during a day of use. Web Browsing, .pdf, e-reading for most work, maybe a little games, Maybe some video as screen would be larger than my N.C. ( which I don't use much for movies b/c of screen size and no HDMI output )

My only Tablet experience is with my Nook Color, which is Running CM7 with overclock to 1.1.

In order to keep extra battery
* I've backed down the voltage a bit, using nook tweaks,
* avoided live wallpaper
* Have standard governing setting
* and Device automatically goes into sleep mode when not in use.
* Re: Widgets WIFI auto turns off when It's in sleep mode ( I'm pretty sure ), so battery doesn't drain
* Keep screen brightness down a bit during daily use
* Turn off WIFI when I'm reading book or .pdf

For those who own a Honeycomb tablet, my questions are...

* Does HC tablet automatically go into sleep when not in use like my CM7 nook ?
* Does Live Wallpaper / Widgets drain the battery alot ?
* Do auto updates turn it on and off during the day when not in use, with the tablet turned on -- and screen off...?
* Can I leave WIFI on all day without worrying about it eating my battery when not in use ?
* Would I actually get 10(ish) hours of actual use time, and when not in use, it'd shut itself off and save battery like my Nook Color.

I'm trying to figure if I can get by with 1 charge using the device throughout the day. My N.C. tablet I usually do, but sometimes, if I get heavy use, I can go through 1 or 2 charges in a day and don't really like when the yellow battery bar shows up.:eek:

I can't see myself watching 10 hours of 1080 p video loop, so wondering about the above scenario. Figured that a Honeycomb tablet owner can give me some insight!!

Thanks

These questions don't really belong in the Prime thread I think...
It's to help me decide when to buy the Prime :D

I figure some in this forum are upgrading from another Tegra 2 Honeycomb tablet. Honeycomb will come with the tablet. So this forum seemed as logical as any other.

Once Asus fixed the dock's battery drain issue on the original Transformer, battery life wasn't a concern at all anymore. I have 6 updating Widget (2 mail, 2 social stream, 1 weather, 1 storage display) I never notice any kind of aditionnal battery drain due to them. Live Wallpaper aren't using any battery during sleep mode and the additionnal drain they cause during wake is only proportionnal to how much they tax the CPU. It depends on the Wallpaper. But if you use a wallpaper that doesn't slow down your device then it shouldn't use much battery.

The only big battery wrecker I found is when you re downloading torrents or stuff in the background. The constant wireless, data transfere, reading writing happening with 2-3 movies downloading make the battery scream to death. But still, the battery is huge (especially with the dock) so you can do it, just not all the time.

And about the constant use battery life, yes Asus numbers are true with the first Transformer. With the dock I spent a whole day (from 10am to 23pm) doing all sort of stuff (heavy stuff: gaming, downloading, using camera, watching movie with the screen at full brightness in daylight etc..) and I had still something like 15% juice left. And it was still Android 3.0. Battery is better now with 3.2.x and I expect ICS to be even better at energie management.
