I want to set up DarkTremor A2SD ...

Is there a way to resize my FAT partition non-destructively and add an ext3?

If not (which is probably the case) -- what is the best way to backup my FAT part on Mac? I was going to just create a DMG with Disk Utility, then restore the image after partitioning the SD card. Will this preserve my .android-secure and permissions and all that?

You are right indeed when adding ext 3 theres no way to avoid a wipe.. Unfortunately I'm not a mac user but to back up my sd all I did was create a new folder titled SD BACKUP to my pc and literally just dragged and dropped to ensure every file was there, then once I partitioned to ext 3 I just plugged right back in and enabled USB mount, dragged and dropped back to the SD for the final time and presto!

GParted can do this.
