I have a note 4 and tech21 case. It's a nice compromise between thickness and protection. It has a nice texture that makes it easy to grip. Sadly it's incompatible with the samsung qi charging plate which is slightly thicker.

Any recommendations for a note 4 case that is compatible with the samsung charging plate?

Doesn't (and highly likely will never) exist. I would love to find one, but no one builds a case to accommodate the backplate just for the Qi charging. On all my previous phones, I had to go the route of using the cheap chinese insert behind the stock backplate. If you do find a solution, post back please - thanks

For past models there has eventually been a Protective Cover Plus that fit, but it won't be out for a while if ever.

I'm usually going without a case. If I am going to be on a job site where I don't have a need for wireless charging, I switch out the back and put on my Versus case. I've also got a qi receiver card to go in the case but it breaks tap to pay and charges slower. I've got a hopefully better one coming.

How about a bumper case?

Anyone have a nice bumper (around the edge) case for the note 4? Seems like pretty much any case without a back should be compatible the slightly thicker samsung qi charging back plate.

I thought exactly this....haven't bought a bumper yet tho. I've been using the rubber from my otterbox commuter for protection. There are a lot of bumpers on eBay I'm thinking of picking up one of the cheap ones to test with this backing.

Incorrect.

Diztronic made one for the S5: http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Flexible-Exclusively-Compatible-Wireless/dp/B00LLM9MQY

I'm sure they'll make one for the Note 4 within a month or two, it's the most popular Samsung phone now.

Honestly I hate cases. I wanted the original samsung charging back as i've always used the stick on kind for many samsung phones and have always found that you lose features, create bulges, and they don't always work that great. I have always battled with my hate of cases and my obsession with the newest phones. In the past I always sold my phones on the secondary market and wanted to retain their resale value. recently we went to the EDGE program because we have a family share plan. So my phones will simply be traded in to VZ. I checked with them on their condition requirements for traded edge phones and the consistent answer was that they didnt care about scratches and such as long as the screen wasnt broken and there was no water damage. so that made my decision EASY!. Original sammy back and NO ugly bulky case! YAY!. Insurance covers the accidental breakage issue.

DITTO!

This note4 is a thing of beauty, and covering it up with a peice of rubber simply makes it look like every other black phablet on the market.

I'm on the next program with at&t, and will eventually trade my note4 back in when another upgrade phone comes out. They also don't care of minor screen scratches, only broken screens and water damage.

I looked at that URL and under questions someone asked about fitting the Qi Back. 3 people said no. Did you have to modify it? Do the cutouts still line up?
No mods, straight out of box. The only thing I noticed that differed from the stock backing is that the case is a little tougher to get on...meaning you have to groove the plastic into the tpu a tad harder.

Niilkin bumper just went live today on mobilefun. Hoping it might work
I had it for awhile (bought it directly from Ali Express). It works with the Qi cover, but otherwise I pretty much hate it:
1. It is a bit of a loose fit and the lip does not always go securely over the front edge of the phone.
2. The lip does not take into account the curved glass, so it's elevation over the surface of the glass is very minimal. I do not think it would provide any screen protection if the phone is dropped face down on the pavement (#1 contributes to this). This lip issue with curved glass seems to be an issue with other cases as well though.
3. Buttons are hard to press and identify by touch.
4. They placed and elevated Nillikin badge on the side of the phone that looks and feels like a button. What's worse it's located where power button would be if the phone was flipped upside down. This is extremely annoying because it makes it impossible to determine by touch if I am holding the phone correctly (and actually pressing a button).
5. The microphone holes, while aligned, create an echo when in speaker mode. Echo is bad enough to make the speaker mode unusable. I made the holes larger by using a red hot nail followed by some Dremel love. It fixed the echo, but it looks pretty ugly.
All in all, I am barely tolerating this case. Ali Express now has more bumper cases, and I ordered 3 different ones. At couple of bucks a piece they are pretty cheap. Hopefully at least one of them is better than Nillikin.

Caseology case works perfect with the OEM wireless charging back. A little snug but can't tell when in hand.

Any issues with buttons being too easy to press/accidental presses?

Yeah the power button is easier to press with the charging back.
