It really is personal preference. Recommended rom however is DL09. For kernels its your choice, as you might want more battery life or maybe more speed

No matter what ROM or kernel you get, download JuiceDefender to help with battery.

I prefer SuperClean .4 DL09 with Adrynalyn's 12/30 test kernel. Also using Blackmod Enhanced theme.

I kept getting errors while with SNS using Blackhole but overall its pretty good as well.

Question. After installing ron via cwr. Do you then flash the kernel that is saved on the SD card? Or do you flash kernel then flash rom? I've tried to flash new kernels and know when u reboot it could take a while but I have never heard any women's voice during startup and the screen usually stays black..last try I waited two hours before doing a restore.

And your reasoning for JD being garbage would be?
Let me handle this answer... JD didn't actually save battery life on my phone, and it was cutting off wifi even when I was telling it not to.

By the way, the ROM/kernel combo I settled on is adrynalyn's 1/18 voodoo5 kernel on blackhole's 2.4 ROM. If you decide to use voodoo, I suggest you use a voodoo5 kernel- less headache with having to disable and reenable lagfix every time you flash a ROM. jt1134 also has a voodoo kernel, but if you use it, you need to be on a DJ05 ROM.

Another Fascinating post by my XDA app...
