I rooted with CM 10.2, but am getting sick of my browsers crashing all the time. I've tried Chrome and Dolphin. Dolphin seems a little more stable, but, like Chrome, will often crash after 10 minutes of use. Any suggestions on what I might try to get a more stable response from this tablet? Thanks.

I have tried most all the rom's for the HD+ and the browser issues are there with all of them. Turning off flash and keeping java off when possible has made both Dolphin and Chrome more stable for me. Your mileage may vary, but the fix is not with the rom.

59 views and not one reply? What's up with that? Doesn't anyone have an opinion or the most stable ROM for this tablet?
I use CM10.1.3 exclusively. It is very stable. And I use Firefox. But no one's opinion seems to hold and is why none have answered.

Thanks for the reply, and thank you for posting excellent instructions on how to root the Nook HD and HD+. I was contemplating a change to CM11, but will try 10.3.1 first.

I just posted about Chrome crashing quite frequently since I installed CM11. It wasn't a problem on CM 10.2.1 but I'm not going back.

I didn't take Wellersl's suggestion and test all the ROMs out there to see how they'd work for my Nook HD+. That would sort of defeat the whole concept of a fourum, and seems like a task more suited to a blog. Still, I did install a CM11 nightly, twice now. The first install worked great for a few days, then I installed a new theme and it started to crash and reboot constantly. So I wiped it and reinstalled the most current nightly. It is working, but I've had a few instances where Chrome crashed and it rebooted, but these have been fairly rare. So I'm going to stick with this ROM and see how it goes. My biggest complaint is the lagginess of the back button (soft button) and N button (hard button) when trying to get out of and app. Also trebuchet launcher crashes every now and then. Thanks to leapinlar for his excellent dummies guides to CM 10 and 11. And thanks to kokercy for his suggestion to not install flash or java on browsers which seems to make them more stable.

I am running the CM11 official and am totally satisfied with it. CM10 builds were always unstable and would spontaneously reboot several times a day. No instability and no unscheduled reboots on CM11.

I just started using Chrome Beta and it does not shut down spontaneously like regular Chrome. I'm running CM11 M12.

refresh on most responsive ROM

Hi all,

although this thread is more than a year old the ROM development for the Nook didn't stop. Now, I use the latest CM13 build but I'm not quite happy with the responsiveness. What ROM would you currently recommend for a fast and least lagging user experience?

FWIW I've been using CM11 (11/22/15 nightly build) and am quite happy with it.

I think stock firmware from B&N didn't crash the browser. I'm gonna try it, since I've not used the stock fw since 5 or so days after I got the device.
