not sure if this is discussed elsewhere or is the same thing as the black crush issue ....this is a bit different ....i see lines where the screen background gradiants from black to grey, some apps are worse than others.
it does not show with solid colors, only with gradiants like on ICS style menus.

had to take a picture because it doesn't show on a screenshot, this is one of the worst, the others are not as bad with only a few lines

anyone know what this is?

Exactly the same here. I don't know if go and take a new one, because I'm tired of these AMOLED Screens. On my SGS2 had the same problem, the ugly gradients, some green/yellow tint, and ink marks with not true deep blacks. And now, with PenTile.

Put this image on your S3, It's a screenshot of MegaJump. On my PC it looks well but on the phone... ahh.

Sorry friend, it's just Samsung. That's what we get from a "premium" phone.

(I'm spanish, sorry if there are some grammatical errors)

yes, i can see all the gradiants quite visibly on the S3, it is much better on my S1, my S1 also doesn't have those grey banding lines which are worse than the halo effect ....i hope the lines are just software or background issue

i still prefer amoled to LCD though, just those banding lines suck

Hi, ho have the same problem on my sgs2. It's not a screen problem, but a 16bit rendering. This rendering mode improves 3D graphics performances, but reduces display quality introducing: banding, dithering, color missmatch.

aha!

it seems that is the answer ....so how do we enable 24 bit rendering?

can't find any info on it ...or is it something that should not be changed?

i presume there would have been an option on the phone if it was ok to do without too much performance degradation
