Go to the Verizon Community Forum and add to the thread I started. They say they know it is an issue and will fix it but nothing has happend for a month. No updates and no schedule. The thread is here - communityDOTvzwDOTcom/t5/Other-Android-Devices/Bluetooth-broken-on-Verizon-Galaxy-Tab/td-p/336065

Replace the DOT with .
I wanted to update this. The Verizon Moderator has removed his post from this thread. It would not surprise me if the entire thread gets killed soon. If you are signed up ther log in and post. I want to keep the thread at the top of the list so they will see that this is a real issue for customers.

If anyone here can do something to provide the missing drivers or functionality I would be willing to pay for it.

This thread has been hi-jacked by all you guys on american tabs not supporting bluetooth keyboards.. Get back to the topic

Like the original poster, I also have a wireless bluetooth keyboard, with hardware-buttons for the norwegian letters "æøå" - and it seems like the bluetooth keyboard input is by default turned to english, and I can't find a way to change this.

Any ideas? (and no more about american tabs bluetooth keyboard problems)

wow, the topic is "Q: Bluetooth Keyboard". how exactly is it off topic if a major american vendor cripples their bluetooth? that's certainly a bigger issue than not getting foreign keys working.

that was your first post - and it broke rules of conduct @ xda. please try to be more open to the entire world using XDA, not just yourself.

Thanx for pointing that out, showing that maybe you didn't even bother to read the original post, about having trouble with norwegian letters. I am sorry for breaking forum rules, and I am sorry that you can't use bluetooth keyboards.
No need for anger or disrespect.

Maybe the title of this thread should be changed, there are other threads with the topic "american versions of the tab don't support bluetooth" or alike. This thread was meant to be about bluetooth keyboards in other languages.

On my old HTC with winmo it was possible to change the keyboard to other languages by editing the registry, change a couple of numbers, reboot and voila the keyboard layout was in norwegian (in stead of russian, the original).

There must be some kind of solution like this, to change the bluetooth keyboard-settings on the android phone, so that the keyboard layout will be norwegian (or wich ever one would like to use)?

As far as I can see, when a bluetooth keyboard is connected, there is no place
where you can edit any settings for the bluetooth keyboard in the galaxy tabs user interface. The on-screen keyboard can be changed to what language you want, but the bluetooth keyboard doesn't even show up with the others.

Somebody should know something about this, must be a known problem.

I have a Galaxy Tab (T-Mobile). Recently, I got a Freedom Pro bluetooth keyboard and a Micro$oft bluetooth mouse. Both paired up and work good with the tab. I did discover that, when you want to use both, it's best to connect the mouse first, then the keyboard. Some of the "special keys" on the keyboard don't work....most annoying..."Home and End". I plan to email the Freedom Pro folks about this.

The Freedom Pro keyboard is really nice. It comes with a leather (well, at least, it looks like leather) carrying case and is very portable. I was also pleased to find that I was able to use it with my PS3...no more on-screen keyboard! The Micro$oft mouse also comes with a carrying case.

T-Mobile Tabs rock!

Ken
So it seems the Tab is picky when it comes to mice. I bought as generic brand and it would connect intermittently.

Just copy the keyboard bin file to your computer, make a backup, edit the bin file in a hex editor one character at the time where you want æøå, copy it back to your GT. . i did that for a Bluetooth keyboard i ordered from China. . Works like a charm.
