Can't see that page as I'm at work (yay for Gov's internet..)

As long as you have the GB bootloaders, you don't have to worry about much. Just make sure you have a cwm recovery (often gotten from flashing Corn kernel with Odin 1.85). But if you are already on a custom GB ROM, you don't have to worry about that.

Next is to factory reset, clear cache and dalvik in recovery and flash Slim Bean (Twice*) and finally the Gapps.

The process is the same for pretty much any JB ROM.

I'm a bit confused though, did you already flash it or not?
I flashed Jelly Bean a couple weeks ago and that was the beginning of my phone problems. I did not flash it twice. I was told that it was stuck on the AT&T screen and had started bootlooping because of not having CM9 or 10.

This is what the installation instructions say on the Slim Bean installation page: From Froyo/GB Rom to SlimBean, Get yourself booted with cm9 or cm10. then follow the steps "From another JB or ICS ROM"

Well, you can flash CM10 if you want, it will just be an extra step really. I haven't flashed Slim Bean myself but as far as I know, it's only to get the right partition that they would make you flash CM10 before hand, which you should be able to do with flashing Slim Bean twice.

Either way, follow their instructions. There must be a good reason why they make you take that detour.

I followed the instructions. I flashed Cyanogenmod 9.1. I put the Slim Bean rom and the GApps rom onto the internal SD card. My next step is to go into Clockworkmod Recovery and install those zips. Except now I can't get into recovery - its bootlooping between AT&T and Cyanogenmod screens.

Umm, did you try to reflash CM9?

I can't get into recovery. When I hold down the volume buttons and power button, it starts bootlooping.
Right.. Damnit. Umm do you ever release the buttons? (You have to release them when you see AT&T)

Flash a ICS kernel (ei: Semaphore) with Odin 1.85 and try to boot into recovery. From there, flash Slim Bean (Twice)

I tried it again. I remembered somewhere reading as soon as you see the AT&T screen to release the power and keep holding down the volume buttons again so I was able to get into recovery and am reflashing it now. LOL Thanks for your help! I'll keep you posted. :D

I tried flashing Slim Bean. The instructions were to enter CWM, wipe data and format system (in mounts and storage). Then I went to flash the rom and here's the error message:
Installing: /sdcard/Slim-I897.........zip
Finding update package....
Opening update package....
Installing update....
This ROM uses an incompatible partition layout. Your /data will be wiped upon installation. Run this update.zip again to confirm install.

Would this have anything to do with me having to rename the Cyanogenmod zip to update.zip when I put it on the sdcard. Should I have deleted it?

That's exactly what I was talking about when I said you need to flash twice. Simply reflash Slim Bean!

I had ROMs take up to 10-15 min to boot but it's hard to tell. If in 10min, it still hasn't moved, pull battery, boot in recovery, reflash Slim.

Now if that doesn't work (after being patient :p), get back in recovery, factory reset and flash Slim Bean.

I ended up taking the battery out and reflashing it again and the 3rd time I saw it install things it hadn't the first two times. Voila! It worked beautifully. Then I went back into recovery and flashed the Google Apps and life is perfect now.

Thank you so much for your quick responses! And your invaluable information!
