Hello.
By pressing VolDown+PWR button, HD2 starts and shows the RED-BLUE-Green screen with a line with serial header.
Any idea why phone freezes in that point?

What do you want?
A hard reset .... then down Volume up and volume down and PWR button.
If you want to flash a new rom, you must join before the HD2 to the PC via WMDC

No bootloader is what allows you to flash a new ROM. When the official ROM flashing instructions say establish a ActiveSync connection before flashing a update ROM. They are just saying that cause ActiveSync creates a connection with everythiong on your HD2 including bootloader even though you can not see it really, plus it is easier for most people to understand. But when you are in bootloader and connect your HD2 to your computer via USB. You will see the Serial in the white bar of bootloader change to USB. After it changes to USB you can go to the device manager in the control panel of your computer and your phone shows up as HTC USB sync, this is the sync that is required to flash a ROM via USB.
