[Q] Brand New Telstra Xoom - Now What?

Just got the stock TELSTRA firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049485
for in case anything goes wrong but I have no idea how to flash this file. (HELP Please)

Basically I want to flash Tiamet, but I don't know if I need root?

I want to be able to go back to Stock perfectly???

and has anyone figured out online tv/movies for Australia?

I will say that in order to flash any custom kernels or roms your Xoom needs to be rooted. There are some good guides on rooting Australian Xooms. I guess you can always go back to stock, but I'm not certain about the ability to relock.

thats all well and good but my xoom wont even update ota from telstra from 3.0.1 to 3.1. Do I need to be on wifi?

telstra have pulled the update for the moment due to battery consumption issues, mine dramaticaly increased after the update

There is a link to get the region specific files from the Moto site.
There is a How to root guide in the Xoom general forum specifically for rooting the Australian Xoom and updating the ROM to 3.1.
If you dont have a lot of experience with root android devices read everything very carefully and always follow the instructions to the letter and you wont have a problem.......I didn't
