[Q] Bricked Fire - fastboot won't find device

I bricked my kindle, when it turns on it stays on "Kindle Fire." I bought a factory cable from skorpn http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20380015&postcount=9. When I plug it in and run fastboot devices, nothing shows up, and when I run any other command it stays on waiting for device, on both linux mint and windows 7.

on the fires for fastboot, you must use the -i 0x1949 flag... the command should look like this:
fastboot -i0x1949 getvar product
