[Q] Can i make a build.prop edits and continue to OTA?

Hi,

I need to go back to stock android for continued monthly security update for work reasons. however i really want to make the build.prop edit to enable unprovisioned tethering. I could temporarily install twrp, make the edit via adb pull/push and then restore the stock recovery. will that affect ota updates?
