[Q] Can Port i9100 kitkat rom to i777?

Yes u can port i9100 rom on i777 but with care otherwise your phone will become a stone.

People, there are TWO guides regarding porting, both of which work on Kit Kat roms (although the kernels listed in those guides do not work on KK):

rkgarg offering to help is valiant, but it isn't needed at this time - please search before posting questions that have been answered numerous times, especially over the course of 2 years of this phone's life.

Regarding the kernels, only RenderBroken's KK kernels will work on 4.4+ at this moment for the i777.

Please do a bit more research before posting questions... and especially flashing firmware when you're not at all familiar with the necessary porting steps.

Ok, I have installed the JellySNAP 4.1.2 its based in stock firmware, with Jeboo Kernel 2.3a, Full rooted, xposed framework, modem is I777UCMD8, CWM Recovery siyah 6.0.1.2. I want to instal Celeriter ROM 4.4.2 for i9100 ported to my i777. I really appreciate your help

I was looking everywhere how to port Kitkat roms, I do the same process but my phone boot itself every time i lock the screen, thats why I post this to find some help with this awesome android world

Rom in your card

* BACK UP
* go to Recovery mode
* Wipe data factory reset & wipe cache
* Flash a Kitkat compatible CWM
* Go to Advance: wipe dalvik cache
* Select install zip from sd card and choose Rom
* then flash I777UCMD8 Modem
* Then flash latest Jeboo Kernel
* reboot the device
* be patient
* enjoy!

It worked for me. but the KITKAT ROM lacks many things that JB has Like #G video call etc. so I reverted to Neat ROM JB.

You're right, the most recent Jeboo kernel for the i777 (2.3a) is NOT compatible with KK roms - don't try and install that on 4.4 roms or you'll run into bootloops, 2.3a works fairly well on Samsung-based 9100 roms (4.1.2) if you decide to port those.

Ok, after I install a KK Rom my phone keep booting itself after I lock the screen, Maybe i'm doing something wrong

The best KK Rom ported is Resurrection Remix ported by @SteveMurphy, a awesome rom!
