i have a htc desire and i want to root it. can someone tell me what are the steps i have to follow. this is the soft vers :

Baseband version
32.43.00.32u_5.09.00.20
Build number

1. First i have to downgrade the hboot from 0.92 to 0.80 ?
2.My phone is unbranded so i don't think i need a gold card.
3.Root with unrevoked (more explaining or steps to follow, needed here)

and if i decide to go back to stock rom how do i knew wich one i need ?

if i forgot someting or something is rong please correct me

There are a couple of ways to that all over this forum so choose the one that is easy for you to understand.

I strongly suggest making a Gold Card. The most important part of making the gold card (in my opinion) is making it from a class 2 MicroSD card!!!

If it's a brand-new Desire, make sure you know whether it's an SLCD screen. You need to know how much possible trouble you're getting yourself into =)

yes it's a new desire but it has an AMOLED screen. i have a micro SD class 2 4GB that came with the phone. I want to root the phone because after the 2.2 froyo update the gps stopped working(the gps icon blinks ) .i've waited for 45 min in the open sky and no gps fix...

I have read the tut on xda but it's the first time i try to root an android phone and i want to be sure i do this well...
