Hello guys,
My Xperia Z1 used to be able to screen mirror to my Samsung Smart TV when it was still in Kitkat 4.4.4 (firmware 14.4.A.0.157 i believe). However, after updating to the current Lollipop 5.0.2, the screen mirroring feature does not seem to work; everytime i try both devices would get stuck in connecting for a while and then Z1 would disconnect with the toast message: cannot turn on screen mirror.
Now, the interesting thing is, back in 4.4.4, i rooted the phone using the method of flashing and rooting an older kernel (14.4.A.0.108) with EasyRoot , and after updating to 5.0.2, i lost root access. One of my friends has the exact same Z1, the only difference is that he never rooted, and after the update, his Z1 can still screen mirror just fine.
The question is: Has the rooting process i used affected the screen mirror feature in some way? And more importantly, does anyone know how to fix this issue?
