[Q] CASUAL Stuck on Initialising Protocol

I just tried running Casual R515 from my laptop which is running windows 8 and I am stuck on the Initialising Protocol phase. The phone is still in download mode but there seems to be no indication of anything actually being done. It has been like this for 1 hour. Is this normal?

What can I do to safely reboot the phone so I can possibly restart the process?

I have a link to the pastebin for the log file however the forum is restricting me from posting links.

Please let me know what I can do.

Pull the battery out and put it back inside.... The handset should start since nothing is done in the phone software
