hi, everybody! i'm having a problem with clockworkmod and/or recovery. when i tap on "flash clockworkmod recovery" in rom manager, it offers me 3 motorola phones (milestone, droid x, droid 2), but my defy is not among them. What should i do? Whenever I try to manually boot into recovery, a triangle with an exclamation mark in it and the android logo appears, and nothing happens. I'm on 2.2 now (flashed with rsd), but the same thing happened on stock 2.1. Is there any way around cwm to install cyanogenmod 7? Help, please!

thx, it worked! :) but i successfully bricked my phone (i checked wipe and backup when installing rom, was that a mistake?), it shows nothing but the notification bar, and a blank screen with the title "set-up", and no buttons work. What can I do? RSD lite recognizes the phone, but can't flash any sbf's... :S

Not sure what you've figured out here yet but....... If all else fails and you need to flash an sbf, RSD is REALLY weird sometimes. It used to work great on both my pc's and suddenly one day NOW BOTH PC'S REFUSE TO COOPERATE WITH RSD!! RSD will recognize the phone on both but instantly fails.... Sometimes now I don't even get a start button. Even when I do though if fails right away.

sbf_flash in linux works perfectly EVERY TIME

Have you solved your problem?
I've had some difficulties flashing different sbf's as well. I just kept trying flashing different sbf's (wipe after each try) until it worked. Not sure if the sbf's or the rsd was the problem.
