guys....???
a new thread really?
c'mon, it's already thread on there.
recently much people asking a question about CM7 with a new thread.

anyway, here i gave you my opinion:

i am using cm7 bootsea,
then update use 27 july nightly.

27 july nightly fixing laggy on video recording,
anyway do not choose HD if you are green lensed defy, it will FC.

now it's best cm7 on defy EVER!
it's stable, fast, and better batery.

before go to 27 july nightly, you have to install bootsea first (cmiiw).
but for me, first i go to froyo sea ---> cm7 boot sea ---> 27 july nightly.

i still havent found the answer to "what is the difference between bootsea and boot179?" :(

who should use what and why?
BOOT179 loads a Nordic kernel from Europe
BOOTSEA loads a kernel from South East Asia

Epsylon3 wrote on the main CM7 thread that there 'might be' no difference between the two since everything is almost the same in the system files...

So it's up to you to choose the one you want to try and find out how it turns out.

From people's comments, it seems clear that user experiences vary with the builds and boot choice.

I thought my video camera was fine with BOOT179-4 build and I just found out that it lags once in a while. So I will now try to replace*** the "camera.apk" and [as Quarx himself suggested earlier:] "Copy only the /system/lib/libOMX.TI.Video.encoder.so from the [July 27th - since Marhensa says that it works for her] nightly.

*** [if you do try this, don't forget to change the files permissions AND the ownerships before rebooting]

Fingers crossed for no more lags in video.

And no, I don't want to try the full nightly yet because my wifi only has good speed on BOOT179-4 [only one that works OK out of all nightly builds I've tried].

Only a fix, BOOT179 is CEE kernel, not Nordic. I recommend that first you flash the Froyo version of your choice (CEE or SEA), then install CM7. Anyway, all the nightly's are using CEE as base instead of Nordic (but the nightly's don't come with kernel), so it's the recommended version.

I'm using version BOOT179-110729 and I'm pretty sure it's the best version of CM7 I have ever tested. It's much stable, abd the battery is lasting for 2-3 days for me, depending on use. And now I have CrystalTalk =)

Yep, not Nordic sorry [had boot177 in mind probably] but Europe was right;)

And as for the 2 files replacement for the video cam: so far so good! Tried about to record ~10 videos and no lag...still testing.

I've flashed nordic, installed RC1v2 + 110805-1854-NIGHTLY ... and my kernel version now is:
2.6.32.9-ga28fcc4
[email protected] #1
3.4.2-179-2

I believe RC1v2 and BOOT179-110729 both have the same kernel/module versions? Is this correct?
