Coming from a Galaxy S so I'm used to very high sound quality I got from the Wolfson chip using supercurio's Voodoo Sound mod.
I'm very happy with my GN except for one thing. I got this sound/ringing (sinus waveform in the 6-7 kHz range) coming from the left earphone. Sometimes it changes frequency when working with the phone so it could be some kind of interference. It's very quiet so I can only hear it for a short period after a sound has been played (while the output is active), but it's still very irritating.
I hear this with my primary earbuds of choice, the Denon AC-71, which are quite sensitive (110dB/mW) and has a quite low impedance (16 ohm).
Using a pair Sony MDR-P180 headphones I can't hear the sound. But these are not as sensitive (98 dB/mW) and has a higher impedance (24 ohm) compared to my earbuds so I can't play as loud, which could be the reason why I can't hear it.
Anyone else suffering from this problem or a similar one? Do you think my device could be defective or if this can be solved with a software update/patch?
Note: The problem persists through different firmwares, from stock 4.0.1 to the custom 4.0.3 rom I am running now, so if it's software-related it hasn't been fixed yet.
