[Q] custom gapps vs. minimal gapps

I'm on quarx Cm10 10/18 and the v4 update. Everything's great!

I just have a question about gapps packs. I see there is an updated pack now, but if i have the custom gapps installed on my phone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892098) won't the apps update themselves anyways? Am I missing any cool features by not having the latest gapps pack? I also like having the extra system space and not worrying about running out of space on my phone.

Hi, by the costume gapps you can choice what you need. And by the minimal gapps, you have the important things with place on the system. When you install costume complete your systempartion is full.

No, the custom gapps doesn't install every app on the system partition.

I meant to ask what is the advantage of the newer gapps packs? Shouldn't my current gapps auto update to the versions? Or are there new features I'm missing?
