The phone rebooted during the process and came back to home screen. I shut down the device and tried to boot into recovery mode, using "volume up" + "home button" + "power". It boots to Android recovery mode.

The second time didn't flash anything... be sure that phone is in download mode and that you checked the box + add the file to flash...

if after this try it doesn't work, I don't have any idea how to fix it. Maybe it's better that you ask here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-2-verizon

@jjones312 now I understand... your variant has a locked bootloader

As I said before, you need to go in the verizon xda thread...

Here I found a tool for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387290

Yea.. I've actually been trying to ensure root on the device waiting for your response. I'll check out the link. I was currently working on rooting using GhettoRoot. Although I was having some issues with it..

Right now I'm installing a few items since the PC was a reinstall recently. Putting java runtimes, andriod-sdk etc on it to get it running GhettoRoot. I"ll keep you posted :cyclops:

Giant step forward...
Phone is rooted "Root Check" show the phone rooted now.
Tried to flash with TWRP and appeared to work but phone rebooted and couldn't tell TWRP was installed.. Tried to boot into recovery mode "vol. up" + "home" + "power" still into android recovery.. Gotta break for a few and will try later..

Well one step forward and umm well just umm..

So I've attempted to get TWRP installed and it doesn't seem to be taking. Although SuperSU and Root Check are both on the phone and appear to be indicating the phone is rooted. One note, the phone is Verizon Galaxy Note 2 VRUFND w/ 4.4.2 (latest OTA is on phone). I tried to install TWRP using Odin (from windows), Jodin3 (on MAC), and command line Heimdall (on mac) and none let me boot into recovery. Well they do but only into the stock Android recovery. Installing TWRP from the windows PC using Odin did say success on one of the TWRP tar files (openrecovery-twrp-t0ltevrz.img.tar. But that seems like its a lie

I'm wondering now if just root doesn't mean bootloader unlocked?? And that is my problem? Is there any help, maybe flash back to a stock ROM and start the process over?

@FUSIONdev

So I think we are as far as we can go here. Since I'm on Galaxy Note 2 i605 w/ ND7 root, from what I can tell, is it for me. Since I can't unlock the bootloader I'm not going to be able to flash ROMs....

Please correct me if wrong :)

If not then I think this thread is ready to be stopped and I'll post a new or in another thread for those in my same boat.

Yep, it looks like for now there's no unlock solution for ND7 firmware... so you can root but can't flash a custom recovery :(
Subscribe to this thread... maybe one day a solution will come out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387290
