More than likely its the read-only mode and cannot be fixed but by Dell. I asked for them to share with me how to fix it but they aren't talking.

Not what I wanted to hear.... but thanks for the response nonetheless. I have ordered a new 16gb Sandisk emmc chip and will let you all know how it turns out. I have never attempted a BGA soldering job so it should be interesting.
