I don't remember when this thing started, but it's been going long enough. I can't say when exactly the "Telephony Problem" occurs, sometimes it's while I try to use the internet, sometime while the phone is idle by my side. Once it does that, the Telephony layer of the phone stops working, no 3G, calls or texts, and besides that the phone is laggy as hell. And when the problem pops up, I can either ignore it (If I don't need the phone part of the device), but I can either reboot manually, or use the button on the error message. Rebooting myself fix it for a short while, and clicking the button makes it reboot into the boot menu. If I don't do anything when it pops, it restarts the phone in 60 seconds, and I can live with that if it booted to the phone and not to the boot menu. I considered just wiping the phone, but I can't imagine not having my data, setting up the phone again from scratch... if there's some guide to a selective backup (just the things I want), I would probably do that, but if theres a fix for the telephony problem (which persists through the quarx nightlies), I would try it first.

Fixed the error in telephony layer restart

Hi all,

I bought a Motorola Defy second hand with a broken screen and it was fine for a month until I replaced the screen and back housing. After I did this I started getting the error and restarts. Turns out that the connections on the logic board weren't connecting properly to the points on the back housing that I changed over. I also cleaned the sim card contacts but am certain it is because of the connection points inside. I cleaned them and lined them up better.
