I think not, but you can try install some homebrew app.
i used Windows Application Deployment (SDK)

then i tried some apps and some went ok and some failed.
what i did installed the XBMOD.cer onthe phone
and signed the XAP with the WP7-3MktPlace tool (via settings)

i installed satview 1.2 ,remote desktop_1.13 , devstore 8 and HTC interop unlock from heatcliff74
all of these XAP went ok
when i try nokia counters of nokia maps it fails

can some one please tell me : is it possible to interop unlock my phone this way ???

thanks in advance...

You can change any value by Registry Editor and save ? (or not - I think so not)
For check you can try to install an application that needs access to the root eg: Shutdown: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21751650&postcount=1
You can install app but not run (when tap, app is back to the apps list).
TRUE
until now i CAN NOT save or change any registry setting!!!

and YES
i can install shutdown7 but when i start the app and push reboot its back to the app list

How about we all save some time and stop trying this silly idea, huh? ;)
The interop unlock you're trying to install was for older HTC WP7 devices. It doesn't work on newer devices, and it certainly won't work on WP8 devices. The apps won't work for two reasons:

-Your device isn't interop unlocked
-The binaries are compiled for WP7, not WP8. Not even simple innocent apps like Orientation Lock run under WP8, because they aren't compiled correctly for WP8, nor do they use the correct APIs.

What should be encouraged, however, is an evaluation of the OEM apps on the device, to see if any have exploitable holes. I'm guessing that HTC has learned its lesson by now, but hey, worth trying.

Also, I'm curious to see if this XAP will do anything if sideloaded. I'm guessing no, as it won't have interop privileges, but I'm still curious to see what happens.

:(

I'm with you, trust me I want the same thing... I have a edu Dev account and I am sick of the 3 app limit, never mind the lack of custom colors (Advanced Config), It seems a interop unlock for my 8X would be the only thing I need now to enjoy it more.

As long as these apps will work with a 8X of course :)
