[Q] DHD OTA Update on Orange | Current Rom

Hi all,

Orange have just sent me a replacement DHD and noticed it is still running Android 2.2, as my previous DHD was running Android 2.3 I tried to update it via the OTA update, but to no avail. From speaking to Orange it seems that this update has been pulled because of issues it was causing? Has anybody else had experienced this?

Also, it looks like the DHD I have been given is unbranded as it only app wise it only has SoundHound & Amazon MP3 installed (lucky me), but does anybody know of a way that I can confirm that this is an unbranded handset, rather than one where a previous owner may have flashed a stock HTC rom to it?

I've not heard about the update being pulled. But if you want to check whether your branded or not goto
menu(from home screen)
settings
about phone
software information
now under software number if you have something like 2.37.405.11 then your unbranded, the important thing to look for is the .405.
If it is orange branded then it will generally have .61 instead of .405

It must be unbranded to have a stock rom on it, wether it was originally unbranded or the previous owner has unbranded it is unimportant.
