Thanks for all the replies! My nookcolor is with a relative in the US. I just bit the bullet and bought a case from ebay even though I was eyeing one from B&N too.

Can any kind souls sell me their spare, B&N brand screen protector? If so, please drop me a PM. I haven't quite decided on whether to get the clear or anti-glare one, but if you have one or both of them, do let me know! :D
I'm interested in buying anyones spare as well. pm me. I prefer to get a clear one.

Has anyone tried both the normal and the anti-glare screen protectors from B&N? Does the anti-glare one make the words/smaller images appear fuzzy or just a little less bright? I had a Steinheil anti-fingerprint matte screenprotector on my phone and it made me giddy after a while because of the fuzziness. I don't need glare to be entirely reduced, but some elimination will be good. I'm also considering Screenguardz as I read a review by an ipad user, as well as one on ebay sold by Citigeeks.
I have a Steinheil Anti glare on my Incredible, and just picked up the B&N Anti glare, adnt eh B&N is not nearly as bad in terms of the blurring. There is maybe the slightest, but compared to the other, it is great. but i will also say the cut down glare and smudging more than makes up for any lost clarity..

BN vs ebay screen protectors

I have two NC and one of them uses the regular screen protector from BN and the other one uses a matted screen protector I bought from Ebay. They both serve the same purpose and do the job well. I suggest if you don't want finger prints on your screen, the matted version does a good job (in making the screen look clean). While the regular one from BN leaves slight finger prints and can be noticeable after awhile.

In my case, without a screen protector, my NC would collect fingerprints all over and cause ghosting (random response from the touchscreen; like it's got a mind of its own). After the screen protectors, it solved the problem and now works like it should.

The matted version does provide anti-glare, and it works well. I don't think it will work in the extreme sunny condition condition, but well enough in the regular semi-bright outdoor lighting.

I took my Nook Color back yesterday. Today, the screen protectors I ordered arrived.

It's a 3 pack, I bought this listing:

If anyone wants them, PM me, I'll sell them for 25% off that I paid, so $4 total shipped. Thanks!
BTW, I bought those too and tried to apply them three times. Each time, I could not even pull the backing off partially without tons of dust sticking to the adhesive. Since the material is really thin, any little speck of dust causes a permanent air bubble. I am not sure if these can be "washed" and then re-applied, but there was no way I could get it applied. Maybe if I was in an industrial "clean room" I could do it.

I think the material is just too thin and flimsy.

To their credit, they did offer me a full refund.

I originally bought my NC with the glossy bn screen protector which collected as much fingerprints as the screen itself...

When I exchanged my NC they offered me a free screen protector kit for my inconvenience and I noticed the matte was in stock so I requested that one... let me tell you its a world of a difference.

Barely any fingerprints at all and still retains its clarity.. definitely love it and would recommend bns screen protector

Call me crazy but I use 2 matte screen protectors on top of each other. I really want to use my Nook everytime everywhere and the fingerprints and glare were just too annoying on a screen that big. I also had extreme problems with ghost touch responses which are a thing of the past now

I bought this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320649499097&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Though there appear to be none in stock :-( I am very pleased with how easy it was to install. I have used the Nook Color in bright sunlight (at the ball field) and have been able to read easily. I'm pleasantly surprised with its ability to read in the sun, as I was concerned about it.

Also, mine came in a black package with green writing that said Screen Guardz. There use to be some listings that showed the packaging, though I don't see any right now.

Well They came today :) and there quite nice for 8 bucks. The go on Waaayyy easy (only got 1 speck of dust in it on a corner) The Anti-Glare works pretty good in bright sunlight and they dont pick up fingerprints or smudges. But i wouldnt call them anti scratch. They scratch pretty easily. They do degrade the crispness of the screen a little bit, but not much. Overall, I like them. If i had more money i would probably go with B&N's one, but for 3 for $8, There great!

EDIT: The anti-glare isnt as good as i original thought, but still pretty good

cama9000: How are the viewing angles? I am only talking up to a bout 40 or 50 degrees.
There Great! you can look at it at like 160 degrees and its still fine. One thing is that the anti-glare isnt quite as good as I originally thought, but still much better than nothing

The anti-glare screen works wonders. I can read in direct sunlight with no issues. Go into a B&N Store and have their expert install it; the guy who helped me did an excellent job.
