[Q] Difference between "Droid Ultra Dev" and "Droid Ultra Original Dev" sections?

I just got my Droid Maxx Dev Edition after coming from a RAZR Maxx and was not sure why there are two different dev threads for the Ultra/Maxx?

Some one correct me if I am wrong, but it dreams to me when they first started getting posts one was for all new software developments (root exploits, write protect disable cooked up Roms from scratch per say) and the other was for things like factory unlock, recoveries and Roms modified but still based off original software. But then could be wrong and have my thinking way off as usual

Dev Boards are where development happens on original stock ROMs and mods for them, iirc. For example since we have 4.2.2 and 4.4 ROMs available, that's what you'd find here for the Ultra/MAXX/Mini.

Original Dev boards are where development happens on totally original ROMs, ports, etc - not just taking the stock ROMs and modifying them for whatever purposes or reasons. Here you'd find new ROMs based on 4.4.2 or whatever, potentially even backports of 4.4 and 4.2.2 as well.

Could be wrong but that's how I've always understood the difference.

Ah, ok. Makes sense now, thanks guys! Are there any non-stock roms that still maintain Active Notifications and Touchless Controls at this point? Also, from what I understand, Moto X roms will technically work on my Maxx but they lack sound currently?
