hi.. please anyone explain what is Rooting and what is De-branding??

By the word de-branding I understand as removing the Network specific ROM and installing the HTC supplied ROM... but what is Rooting??

I am currently on UK T-mobile desire and I would like to install Froyo on my phone.. I went through few forums and finally got a good link (below) which has steps to debrand and install Froyo... but while browsing I came across few people talking about rooting..? i am confused... Please help...

yep, debranding is getting rid of any network apps, logos etc..
rooting is gaining super user acces (hack).. both very easy to do and you will lose your warrenty if you root..

hope this helps! good Luck!
