[Q] do i need receipt to exchange?

i need to exchange the phone due to random shutdowns. it was a gift and the original buyer cant find the receipt. i do have all boxes etc.

also when i use odin3 to return back to stock, how can i install all att bloatware?

The odin one click that reverts to stock will install all bloatware. As for returning without a receipt - it depends where you bought it and what their policy is. Same with warranty exchange.

Pick up the phone and call the store and see what they say. If the buyer put it on a credit card, then you should have a statment that shows it.

The one-click stock does restore everything including bloatware but it does NOT do a master clear. See the Master Clear thread for the dial string to make sure there's no trace of Voodoo or anything...

Power off phone and remove SIM and microSD (if applicable). Power phone back on. Tap Phone. Dial *2767*3855#

If you're exchanging it at the store, who knows. They may run the IMEI and figure out if it was purchased within 30 days. Otherwise you may have to go thru Warranty like I did and they overnighted two phones now at no cost to me. First had the shutdown problem and was a refurb, this one is new and no issues yet!

its been well over 30 days, so id have to do the warranty thing. this is a hassle!

Just install 2.1 stock. It will install all u want. Don't forget to do a factory reset after u install to wipe out all ur data.

And no, u don't need a receipt. Just take ur phone to the warranty service. They'll take care of the rest

Even if its over 30 days, but within the warranty period, u cud go to att warranty store, n get it replaced on the spot. No mailings needed. I got mine the same way.

Call your nearesr att store and ask them where is the closest att warranty center, it should be within 20 miles range

i called the warranty dept and they never asked about where/when it was purchased. as long as your imei numbers match, and it wasnt dropped in water.
