I'm thinking to buy Galaxy Gear, but do you think guys, if I really need it...

I have liveview smartwatch of sony, to be frank I didn't like it so much...
I know its battery goes max. one day... I will have to charge it everyday....

Is it convenient for daily use or not??

Have any ideas... Feel free to share :) :highfive:

Firstable it's Dame expensive $300. 2nd) it needs to be recharged every day, gets annoying. 3) bad display for outside use, it is hard to see it on sunny days.

My suggestion if you really need it, wait until blackfriday, there would be sell on it on eBay for around $100_200

I find it usefull

I personally like using a smartwatch.
Mainly because, given the climate here, it's not a good idea to put my Note II in my pocket,
so it's usually in a bag or backpack. As a result I don't always hear my phone and miss incoming mail/sms/chat notifications.
A watch solves that problem, for me anyway.

Until now I've been using the Sony smatwatch but the battery life on that thing is just terrible, doesn't even make it through the day.
I have no issue recharging my devices at night, but they have to make it through a long day at least.

If the battery of the Gear turns out to be good enough to last me longer than a day (so that I can use it all day and charge it at night)
and the notifications work for mail, wechat, sms, then it might be a good alternative.

But I think it really depends on everybody's personal use case.

And of course there are a few alternatives out there, and I'm guessing the next version of the Gear will be a lot better. (I hope)

Gear Purchased

Lol I was the first to ask if we really need the Galaxy Gear. Then now I bought it. It's perfect. Beyond awesomeness. Samsung did a great job I think.

Well Gear is not too heavy, you are not feeling it after wearing sometime and it becomes like one of your body part :)
And it's convenient for who's driving, working, and also wants to message and be notified discreetly.
It's like a secret device.

And after the update of Gear Manager, all notifications made by your installed apps can be shown on this little devil :)

It's my third day and as I said before I'm not new to smartwatches, I have Liveview. But Galaxy Gear is something different.
Nothing it contains I don't like.
Battery life cap is perfect long lasting even in daily use.
And the screen is crystal clear.

Even though it has 1.9 MP camera, it takes good quality pictures.

And what important for me is, No disconnection.

Whenever I'm far away from my phone, and then back it connects automatically.

What I don't like is the easy-scratchable screen. It's too fragile. But bought a screen protector for it. and waiting now :)

That's the beauty of Galaxy Gear and first photo taken by Galaxy Note II and the second one with Galaxy Gear.:good:
