There is a lot of conflicting informations in this thread

I please someone to clarify:

1. Is this method doesn't touch DRM?

2. Bootloader can be relocked?

3. After unlock can i restore stock ROM using SEUS without relock bootloader and bricking phone? (Someone who tested it)

1. Trackid still work, i think it just bypass, not erase the data.

2. Maybe restore can relock.

3. You can use stock rom and update from ota, but root will remove. you should root again.

Now that explains it and I can answer your query :)

1. Nope this doesn't touch DRM

2. Bootloader can be unlocked

3. Yes I have never relocked the bootloader and I update with PC companion. You can also update with SEUS (both tested myself)

But you will not simunlock or enable fastboot

DRM = Digital rights management. Clicky
Basically some programs need this to function properly.

Fastboot Clicky

Basically is needed to flash kernels and other useful stuffs :D

If you unlock via official method then you will lose warrenty and DRM and cannot update without relocking your bootloader but you need fastboot enabled.

If you unlock with setool that sim unlocks patches and unlocks the bootloader and enables fastboot.
You can update via any method without relocking.
Warrenty is "lost" however the chances of it being an issue is another matter.
As the bootloader is patched they would probably not notice.
I myself have sent my ARC to service aswell as other SE IE W995 (brown certificate) C905 (brown certificate)

I just haven't found one question in all of these threads so I'll ask.
Will I be able after unlocking the bootloader via testpoint method to reflash to stock via SEUS without relocking or do I have to relock in order to use SEUS?
Also, how's the relock procedure? Will I be able to unlock again after relock?

As you say the wrong thread have a look in the kernel threads as I cannot answer your question.

Depends what program you use to unlock the bootloader via testpoint :)
s1tool no need to relock
SeTool no need to relock
Official method you need to relock

I have a SK17i on Tesco Mobile.
I want to unlock it so I can use it on any network.
I want to be able to put custom ROM's on it.
I do not want to pay any money :D

I presume therefore i need to SIM unlock it and unlock the bootloader

I have checked the service menu and it says 'Unlock bootloader: No'

What programs need DRM to function?
Can I sim unlock it for free?

OK, so I got a new phone from Tesco.
It obviously says 'unlock bootloader allowed:NO'.

So obviously i have no fastboot. From what I've read Jinx13 can do it remotely but he wants £££. Is there NO WAY that this can be done for free?

I really loathe paying money for having something done by someone else quickly when I know i can do it myself for free but it might take a little longer.

But... if the answer is ' Look mate, you need to pay someone to do this' then so be it.

I'm not a rich man, I've just paid £120 for this phone, I really didn't want to spend any more on it.

There is NO way to sim unlock your phone for free.
Hence you cannot do it yourself. (i'd be happy to provide links where you can get it with all details however I doubt you'd want to)
The only way I can do this is because I own an unlocking box and purchase credits.
So it is not even free for me.
AFAIK fastboot only also comes with sim unlock which is what your also wanting.
The service I offer is a good price for what is included.
Anyways if someone does come up with a free way to sim unlock i'd like to know however I doubt it.
Feel free to contact me once more if you have anymore questions.

Asking same Q because I unlocked via S1tool and still cant boot to fastboot, dont know why but maybe because in service menu says bootloader unlock allowed:no.

Another link for S1tool?

Hello,

I tried to download S1tool from the link(multiupload.com) on this thread, but the link is no longer available.

Do anyone tell me another link?
