[Q] E: Error in /sdcard/"name of rom".zip (status 0)

Hi, I have the title's problem when trying to install ARHD 6.8.0 in 4ext recovery touch 1.0.0.5 RC5 on my HTC Sensation with firm 3.33 (hboot 1.29)
Since my HTC Sensation was in stock condition, I spent one day reading guides and downloading tools and I accomplished this things

1- Unlocked the bootloader (via htcdev)
2- Installed CWM recovery (i dont know which version, I changed it to install ARHD 6.8.0)
2a- I made a Nandroid back up after this point
3- Rooted the phone (Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip through the recovery)
4- S-OFF with JuopunutBear guide
5- Changed my CID to SuperCID (11111111)
6- Unlocked the phone again (Since the S-OFF procedure locked it
7- Updated the CWM recovery to 4EXT Recovery 1.0.0.5 RC5 since it was recommended if I wanted to install ARHD rom
8- Updated the firmware from hboot 1.21.0001 to firmware 3.33 hboot 1.29

9- Then I went to the 4EXT Recovery, I made a cache wipe, then rebooted into the recovery again, I went to install zip from sdcard, I made the Super Wipe and then, when the phone booted again in the recovery, I chose the ARHD 6.8.0 zip and this happened

E: Error in /sdcard/Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_6.8.0.zip

(status 0)

Installation aborted

I formatted the sd card and the problem was still there
Tried with a different sd card and I had the same problem
I made the md5 checks but the rom file was Ok

Then I tried to install the Elegance rom (Pegasus_3.8.0.zip) and although after I chose the zip file in "install zip from sdcard" the installation begun, in the last step of the installation (The Installation itself, since the rom makes you customize what you're going to install in the steps), the installation begun and when it was at 5% it when suddenly to 100% and said that the installation was complete.
It wasn't, of course, the phone wouldn't pass the white HTC screen after turning it on.

I saved the log for this last rom intallation, as you can see, the same error appears in this log

i don't know what exactly is status 0 error but try this
from 4ext choose format all partitions except sdcard
and then flash the rom

Got this problem also! Try to change recovery, if it's doesn't work, backup your SD card data then format it and try again!

you had the problem and that solved it? I formatted the sd card, and just to be sure I tried with a different one and it did not solved the problem.
At first I tried with Clockwork 5.8.x.x (I dont remember the X numbers) and since I had this problem, I found a thread where I read that it was probably a bug from that version, so I tried with 5.0.0.2 and the result was the same

After that I installed 4ext recovery touch 1.0.0.5 RC5, I may try the RC9 when I have the time but to be sincere I dont think that would solve the problem

If you select wipe and wipe all but sd card... what does the status screen show? Does it format with success /system /data etc?

Hi Everybody,

I have the same problem...

For me sometimes (most) doesn't work, it get stuck and reboot the phone (with firm 3.33 already installed)

I started with the same phone configuration (radio, Hboot, S-off, etc)...

Any idea?

The thing is, I'm the creator of the .zip so there's no place to redownload lol...

The solution is really silly and simple, just grab from any working flashable zip the META-INF folder, and paste it to the not-working .zip! worked perfectly for me.

actully i thought that you have the METAL-INF folder
that is the base for the flashing installation

I had it and all of its files inside, but seems like you have to replace it with a known working one :silly:

Im not sure, but I remember having this problem with other roms. I never knew why this happenend and I couldn't fix it, so I ended up with a rom that didnt have this problem after trying with different roms

I think there are two main reasons for this issue.
First one, zip file is not okay with the device model.
Secondly, SD card has problems and is not good.
I solved my problem by flashing the same custom rom using adb sideload and the cm13 worked fine. except it installs one single app each time after turning on the phone and takes only 10 seconds more to boot up.
