Didn't know where would be the appropriate place to ask this so I hope starting this thread isn't causing too much trouble. I am on 1.57 rooted and have everything set up perfectly. So would the easiest and fastest way to get where I am now to sbf the oldest version gladroot and then update? Or would gingerbreak be easier I saw that it would erase the sd card and im not too familiar with adb so id need dumbed down instructions

New method of root. Find Gingerbreak (check the development sub-forum).
SBF to 4.1.26
Update to 4.1.57.
Gingerbreak
Rom
After the last step though I have yet to find cake....
I read that this erases your sd card though, is it too hard to backup. And all that adb stuff looked kinda confusing though. But if its faster than gladroot id rather do that

It is quite easy to backup. Just plug your phone into a computer USB and connect it as mass storage. Just drag and drop the contents of your SD onto your computer. In addition, you do not need to flash 1.26 then update to 1.57. You can download 1.57 sbf and directly flash to that then use gingerbreak.

Oh sweet im going to have to try that. I need a little help with adb though. Like where are you supposed to enter all those commands? In terminal?

I run them from a cmd prompt in windows. You have to make sure you phone is in USB debugging, connected for none, and have the adb.exe from android sdk or other installs (ex gladi or prior themese etc)

Why not take your sd card out before doing a wipe? Seems to me like that would be easier...
It said that you had to have an sd card and that it would wipe the internal sd card I think so I don't think taking the sd card out would do anything. Correct me if im wrong though im new to this stuff
