[Q] Edit APN Data Settings on Unlocked Device?

Okay, I believe I found another way to edit/add APN. Use QuickShortcutMaker, search for "Setting Util", hit try, then tap "Change PROPERTIES" set it to match your operator and/or country, or try a GSM carrier, and hit confirm. Go to settings, more, and APN menu should now be accessible. You can now add your APN. Don't forget to hit save cause once your phone reboots it will lockup again, but your APN settings should stay.....

Not work, no results for search "Setting Util"

Try changing the search method, or try the method posted here.

They used this trick to select OEM unlock.

Remember, you still need MSL to set MMSC in the ##DATA# dialer menu, AKA ##3282#.

I tried all the methods mentioned above, but none of them worked for my Sprint LG G4. Does anybody know how to unlock it for GSM use? Thanks.

you do not have to contact Sprint to get your MSL/SPC - method described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521276
I was hoping to enable wifi tethering via ##3282#-->APN settings but "APN Type" is not part of the APN settings anymore.
You can add or edit APNs so if you click edit and enter MSL

I had a problem with this, if I try to edit it asks for service code, who knows the code?

u have to call sprint to get the msl code
unless you are on zv6 firmware u can modify the build prop ro.carrier from SPR to OPEN and it allows you to save apns

If ure trying to get to dl mode. Shut off g4. Hold vol up. Then plug usb from pc into g4 if not vol down try holding the vol up in same proscess. Aint had to use dl in a while. And im not at pc to tell u which one exactly but one of the 2.
Be sure to hold vol up or down til dl appears

The problem was that zv4 was installed from zv5 with octuplus, that zv4 was preroot, which is right here in xda, but at the end of the process and trying to restart the phone, it did not start or reconnect in download mode, it connects to The pc but only that

Is it only connecting in qualcom 9008 mode in device manager.
If thats the case itz hardbricked which only jtag and octobox can fix. Unless times have changes this was the only meth available to fix. If possi le id use zv6. Most support was on zv6

True. But some firmwares wont let you root

none of them will but one zv6
im hoping i can chjange this very soon

I just used the uicc unlock in settings.. Ls991zve. I can edit my apn as easy as any gsm. Using tracfone on mine. No msl or 3rd party app needed.. Sprint will do it if you have the original owner info.. Thats how i did it..

so thats the official way to do it.
so now we gotta find out what uicc is changing to unlock it to see if its editable within any msl needed menus and without root

google it


Go to IOT(CDG2) option

Then select LTE setting

Then select operation mode

Then select Lab Network option
Then phone will reboot
Insert Sim card.

APN SETUP

Open the App again and follow these steps:
* IOT(CDG2).
* LTE setting
* Apn setting
* New Apn
* Enter your apn parameters

hiddenmenucall is not a app u took these instruction rite off gsmhosting for the lgg5.
people cannot try this as it may mess somthing up on there g4 you need to read better before posting.
now i might be wrong this may work just fine
But if ure gonna copy and paste something from other sites paste the rite phone info
