[Q] Endless Sync

I'm experiencing an issues today for the fist time. My phone running RLS5 has gone into what seems to be an endless "sync". I've gone into accounts and sync and it looks like it's the google contacts option. I've checked it off and checked off auto sync, but the notification still shows that it's syncing. Any ideas what is causing this?
I've rebooted and powered off, removed battery, restarted and yet it continues. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you're using WiFi, disable it temporarily. The syncing, especially if you have an exchange account should stop. Afterwards, re-enable your WiFi.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did not have wifi on. I even went as far as turning off my data. Not sure what was happening. I did a full wipe and flash the rom again from scratch. That seems to have done it. Not sure what was going on. Again, thanks for the reply.
