Awesome the more people helping the better team work always get's it done :highfive:. I was able to send him a build where I fixed adb and he was able to pull a log and we concluded it's a framebuffer issue we need a custom graphics.c (Which should be in kernel source) to likely fix. Fortunately the Nvidia Shield kernel source is also compatible with the Tegra Note 7 , which can hopefully be used to fix somethings. Thanks Shimp I am matts tester. Are you on 4.3?How to get the OTA update zip(worked on my Advent vega nvidia 7" note(UK version))
Once the OTA update is downloaded, do not install.
It is placed in /sdcard/nvidia/app/ota/download/rom/
You will not see it via USB.
To get it, use adb command.
adb pull sdcard/nvidia/app/ota/download/rom
I wasn't even able to root it using the method in the OP. I don't get the four penguins and it just boots to the Tegra Note boot/splash screen. SUpersu gets installed but can't install/update the binaries. Also tried the manual method but it seems the file structure has changed in the new ROM.I have rooted my tegra note using the method in first post, but I still don't have write access on /system. I remounted /system as rw. Remount appears to be correct but still can't copy any thing into /system. After reboot /system is mounted as ro again. By the way, I'm using ES File Explorer. Is there anyone who can help me? Thanks.
This did not work on my Homecare Flyone Tegra note7. After issueing the "fastboot boot root_tn7.img" comand, it shows on the computer like it has worked but instead of going to the page with the four penguins on the note7, it just restarts and then gets stuck on the "TEGRA NOTE" page. infact, i'm still tinkering, hoping to find a way that worksYESSS!!! Thank you, this is just what we needed. Everybody go here ... to get your Tegra Notes rooted! And thank CampGereth for finding this.
Mine's the same version. Can't remember exactly what I did. It's in one of the earlier threads. Probably do a search on the model/version name. I think I flashed supersu but it asked me to update the binary but failed. What I did was to download the Superuser app from Google Play and it was able to root device. This did not work on my Homecare Flyone Tegra note7.
