[Q] Factory applied screen protector?

So my daughter did in fact end up scatching the what I hope to be factory screen protector. Would it be ok to try and remove the factory and apply a new one right away?

Absolutely, just make sure no dust or dirt particles get in underneath the new one or it will drive you crazy!
