[Q] Failed Flash Current Situation

I have rooted my N5110 successfully. I was following the steps to flash to CM 4.4. I attempted to install the Clockworkmod recovery through the app, which failed and got stuck on flashing. Afterwards, I powered down, and simply attempted to flash directly to the latest CM nightly. After trying, it no longer boots. I have USB debugging turned on, and have attempted to recover through Odin to the Philztouch recovery. It states a pass, but never boots.

Any advice?

Okay, as an update, I may have found my issue. Sadly this is my first time tinkering with rooting and flashing a device. I have never been confident enough to do it on my personal phone, so I saw this tablet as my chance to try it.

After some research I found that I was misunderstanding some directions when it comes to flashing. I kept seeing references of TWRP and CWM, and thought it was referring to different stock recoveries. My problem is I have yet to flash a new recovery to the device through USB Debugging mode. Noob mistake, I know.

My theory is that my efforts may have corrupted the stock recovery and boot, my hope is that once I flash CWM properly through USB debugging mode, that it will then allow me to flash as normal. If anyone has any insight or suggestions, I would not mind it. I can't test this theory until after I get off work, so any ease of mind you all can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Okay! So I got stuck again. I am using Heimdall to flash to CWM, and the command heimdall detect is finding the device, yet I get the following error when trying to flash the recovery:

ERROR: Failed to access device. libusb error: -12

I found one instance where someone suggested changing the permissions for /dev/bus/usb/00?/00? where I should replace the "00?" portions with the path for my device. I am doing this in windows command prompt, so I'm unsure if that will work, and I can not find anything referencing the path for this device. Any help would be appreciated.

Final update, because success!

I was finally able to get a custom boot loader installed using Odin. After that it was easy to get the new ROM installed. So, for anyone out there, flashing to a new boot loader is much easier when using Odin, as long as you have a download mode on your device.

I am now sporting Cyanogenmod. Loving it so far.
